Hearing the Call: Sometimes we are doing everything that we want to do except what we are called to do. This Sunday Jerrell Williams, our Student Assistant Pastor, will be preaching from 1 Samuel 3:1-21.
Sunday Forum: PMC’s Community Conversations on communion continue this week. This is the second of the three-week series, and we will discuss theological implications of communion. On the 29th we’ll consider how communion at PMC might be experienced more meaningfully. Join us at 9:15 in the Community Room.
PMC Writers and Readers: There is going to be a meeting this Sunday after church for anyone interested in helping with Advent service planning. Talk to John Davis if you are interested.
It’s time for fall cleaning at PMC, and there are so many ways you can help…
- Plan to help out at the Fall Workday on October 21! Want to keep the church grounds looking fresh? There will be various cleaning and repair projects along with Grow Group activities. We will start at 9:00am, but come by whenever you are able. We anticipate working until 2:00pm, and lunch will be provided.
- Free furniture available: During the workday we will be moving out some old furniture. It is in good condition but is taking up too much space at PMC. Items include office chairs, filing cabinet, love seat, desk, and more. Everything must go by the end of the workday. For questions, contact Joe Hochstetler by email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 319-631-8064.
- Help needed with air conditioner disposal: PMC has two non-functioning window-unit air conditioners. They can be disposed at Appliance Warehouse on the South Side (523 Bingham St.). If you are able to drop them off for disposal, contact Joe Hochstetler (see above).
